What’s your WORD of 2026?
Do you have a new year resolution?
I don't. I don't like them because of the pressure it puts on people to "do" something and quite frankly... we have enough to do already. So, for the last several years, I've had a word instead. I had been thinking and thinking of a word but I didn't find one in time for January 1. I had an early flight so I was sleeping through the new year anyway. So I allowed myself to see what would present itself.
The universe delivered.
I awoke on January 1 to texts from a friend of mine who I had a lot of fun with in Las Vegas. She said that while I was sleeping, I happened to be on national TV (New Years Rockin Eve) with New Kids on the Block. It was a performance from the concert I went to a couple of months ago. She sent me the video and close ups. Lone and behold, there I was, Joey dress and all, right in the front row.
I had no idea! I could see in the pictures how happy I was. I was smiling and dancing and having the time of my life. Except in real time I was fast asleep. Talk about doing it all!
So my 2026 word came to me loud and clear: FUN! I want to have a lot of fun this year. Life is too short to not have a lot of fun. I want to have fun at work, fun at home, and fun everywhere. I'm not saying that everything will be fun, I am still going to have to clean the litter boxes and taxi my kids everywhere, but I am going to try to make it lighter. So that means, more random nights with friends, more trips for the day/weekend, and more concerts and places that are fun and make me happy.
What is your word? Some clues on how to figure it out..... what makes you feel good, rejuvenated, excited, or well taken care of? That's your word. And if you can, send me a message with your word, I want to know it. I read every single message And if you can't find a word, send me a message and I'll help you. I am that committed to make sure you have a mission this year. And no shame if you don't do it, but I assure you you will.
If words aren't your thing or this doesn't resonate with you, vision boards are also something I do. You can do them in Canva. Usually my word inspires my board, so your board may inspire your word.
