Herpes Support Group: why you should go.

In case you are new here, I host a Herpes Support Group for FREE every month. This is a group for WOMEN ONLY. This group is for women across the journey of having Herpes. You might be newly diagnosed or living with Herpes for a long time. In fact, the group benefits from wherever you are in the journey.

I’ve been hosting this group for about a year. I feel energized every time I leave the group. I know I’m not the only one. It’s an incredible experience to sit in a group with people who know how you feel. I feel energized because I KNOW that it is helping people. Even though I know this, these are some reasons you should come:

  1. You feel alone. I get it, Herpes is an isolating experience, especially in the beginning. You don’t know who you can talk to. Your friends might judge you, your parents won’t understand or maybe they never understand and they definitely wouldn’t about this…

  2. You wonder how you will learn to live with Herpes. You are going to have to disclose your diagnosis to sexual partners. You may even have to disclose to some you’ve had recently. It’s the right thing to do. I am assuming you contracted Herpes without knowing. Would you want to do the same to someone else? This group will support you in the process (and there are paid closed groups that meet for 12 weeks that will too).

  3. You will meet other people in different stages of their journey with Herpes. It might be nice to hear from people who have disclosed to partners or who were scared at first but have been using Herpes to get clear on what they want in relationships and life… and what they don’t. You might have things to share and you never know who you might help by doing so.

  4. You can share as much or as little as you want to. There are some people that come to the group and don’t say anything. They might even have their camera off. It’s all ok. My only ask is that you honor confidentiality and what stays in the group stays in the group. I have a list of everyone that attends and I’ve made sure they agree to the terms of participation.

  5. I don’t allow people in who are looking to sell you a Herpes cure or want to recruit people for a Herpes cleanse. There is AT THIS TIME not a cure for Herpes. If someone sneaks in and tries to sell something, they will be removed and banned from joining anything else. I don’t play with this. This group is only for people who have a genuine desire for understanding and connection around having Herpes.

  6. You get updates on what I have available to support you. Make sure you subscribe to my mailing list and newsletter.

How to know if a closed 12 week group might be more your speed:

  1. You want to be in a group with the same people for 12 weeks.

  2. You want to build connections and maybe even friendships. I created this group with the idea that after the 12 week group is over, people might connect outside of the group and have someone on speed-dial if you need support to disclose or are just having a bad day with Herpes.

  3. You want to invest in a group (this group is paid). The return of investment will last for years after participating. You deserve it anyway.

  4. You don’t need crisis support BUT you do need support over a 12 week period. This group is not therapy, it’s a group for support. If you need therapy, I might be able to help, just hit me up.

Don’t want a group and doing something on your own in the comfort of your own home first is more appealing? Check out my self paced course here

I hope to see you at a monthly group soon!
